Mac and Napolean Join Forces!

Hi All,

So I went to my local department store today and found some great products (some on sale!) that I thought I would share with you!

The first item I bought was this Holiday Gift Pack from Napoleon Perdis. I havent seen many reviews on Napolean and to be honest I dont love a lot of their product however I was quite impressed with this kit.

This is the kit packaging and as you can see the original price was $69 however I picked this one up for 50% off which I thought was great value for what I got.

The actual packaging is quite cute keeping with the water theme!
Inside I got a 'Prismatic Eye Shadow Quad' in ocean, a 'Cheek to Chic Blush Duo' also in ocean and a 'Luminous Lip Veil' also called ocean

Like I said I have been really scpetical about Napolean products and have often steered away from them after hearing reports that their foundations were quite heavy etc. However this Holiday pack has changed my mind on their products.

The Eyeshadow Quad has four great colours including a highlight, mid tones and a deep navy to blend a smokey eye.
Starting from left to right these swatches show the colours clockwise on the quad. These swatches were taken by running my finger once over the product. Very pigmented!!
The blush duo has a soft coral and candy pink which are once again, like the eye shadows, really beautifully pigmented!
Once again I brushed my fingers once over the product!!
Sorry for the dodgy camera angle on this one, I was trying to capture the shimmer in this lip gloss. Although it looks quite milky in the packaging this one is great over a lip stick or matte colour to add some shine and freshen up your lip look!

While I was in Napoleon I also picked up this single eye shadow which was also half price at $12.50. I dont have a good shimmery yellow so this was a great addition for me.

This yellow is from the Ultra Pearl line and the only name I can find on it is Gold #27.
Again really soft beautiful product that glides on perfectly!

Overall I can not really complain about Napopleans products however my one issue is mainly with packaging! The lip gloss is actually quite sharp on the corners and uncomfortable to hold, while the eye shadows and blushes have indents in the pans which make me feel like I'm not really getting as much product as I think.

I also was not loving the fact that the eyeshadows come with a screw cap. This may be because I'm so adapted to MAC's flip lids however I feel a cap that completely comes off the product also allows it to become lost. Which sometimes can happen when your in a rush doing makeup like I can be at times.

My last complaint it that unlike MAC none of these colours have individual names. They all seem to be named as the same thing.. 'Ocean',which I think is kind of weird?
Other than that I cant complain.  Great price... Great product!

My last product was of course a MAC purchase..

This is Mellow Mood from the Scottish Holiday Collection

I love loveee this colour! A dark berry brown with just the right amount of lustre in it!
