We may need cosmetics - But they Don't!

Hi All,

As much as I love to make my posts fun and cheerful this one is going to take a slightly different tone. I feel this is some really important info that I need to share and put out there for all of you that do read my posts.

I will and never have condoned the practice of animal testing within the cosmetic industry, however recently I shockingly discovered a list that in plain black & white outlines the companies that still use these disgraceful techniques and I do admit I HAVE purchased from some of them without realizing their involvement in this disgusting, cruel and torturous behavior.

So what am I going to do to make a difference?

Below I will post the list of companies that DO test their products on animals and from this point on I will:

A) No longer purchase items from these manufacturers
B) No longer review products produced, endorsed or marketed by these manufacturers
C) Do my best to spread the word about these companies and prevent others from purchasing their products.

How do you clean your makeup?

Hey All,

Lately I have been trying to find a way to clean my eyeshadows and I'm beginning to ask myself if this is possible at all?

I have seen one youtube video where the artist uses rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle which is lightly sprayed over the shadows to disinfect.
Now what I want to know is how do you clean your shadows and powders?

OPI IS MY SWEETHEART!

Hi all!

OPI is my favourite nail brand ever! I know for some areas they can be a bit pricey but I promise you they are worth it! The brushes apply the product evenly and they are so chip resistant!
So I wanted to share with you a new colour Ive recently discovered and Im loving.

SWEETHEART

I was actually thrilled to see that youtube/blogged Blair Fowler also loves this colour and has named it in her January Favourites. I have been wearing this for about 3 weeks straight now, which is odd for me as I normally change my nail coulor twice a week, but i just love this one!!

To get a true colour I do apply three coats of this as it is quite pale, but I promise you the results are amazing!

The colour itself is a light pink that will will honestly match with anything you wear. I work in media and when Im filmed I have to use a neutral colour and this is my go to product!

St Tropez, best tan? or not a fan?

Hi Everyone,

I have really wanted to try a good face tanner for a while now and with all the hot weather we are having here in Australia at the moment there was no better time then now.

As much as I love makeup I will admit that during really hot weather I tend to hate wearing as much as I normally do. This is for a few reasons:

1) When its really hot I find my foundation melts off me! Especially if I wear sunglasses! Im often left with no foundation on the parts of my face that touch the glasses.

2) Hot weather just makes me want to keep my face fresh and clean.

The problem with wearing no makeup in summer for me is that my face is left ghostly white as all foundations have SPF15 in them and the rest of my body is normally quite tanned.

Onto St Tropez! I picked up their everyday gradual face tan 50ml in medium dark for $33.95 at my local drugstore.  To be honest for the amount of product you get in this tube I think its quite pricey however I have always heard great things about St Tropez and I figured I'm putting it on my face and shouldn't skimp.

CONS

  • The smell.. I had read on some reviews that this had a pleasant smell. To be honest to me it smells like...fake tan and the smell is quite strong.
  • Price and size. For the size of this tube the amount of product you receive you will not last you long at all if used everyday as instructed on the box.
  • Consistency, The cream is very very runny. When I apply this tan I don't even squeeze the tube to release product. I simply hold it upside down and let it drip into my palm.
PROS

  • The cream is absorbed very quickly into the skin which means there is no waiting around for drying.
  • Non greasy means you could apply this and be out the door fast.
RESULTS

Today is my second day using the cream and Im not really noticing much of a difference. If you want quick results I do not recommend this product for you. I will keep using the product for another five days and provide you with a update!

Have you tried any other St Tropez products? Let me know!
